What the…FAQ?

JERK FAQs

OMG…my JMS Separated!

Don’t get separation anxiety. It happens! Due to the nature of our sauces being 100% all-natural, separation will occur. Just give it a little stir and you’ll be all set.

Man, why is my JMS so chunky?!

We use a lot of peppers in our Red Hot JMS and our Mellow Yellow JMS. Peppers are very high in pectin, which can sometimes cause our sauces to be on the chunkier side. Give it a little stir and you should be all set to apply to your favorite dish.

Geez, do I need to add salt or anything else to my JMS?

We created all our JMS sauces to be low in sodium. We wanted you to be able to salt your dishes to your taste. But feel free to get adventurous with adding other flavors to your marinating sauce(s). And you can always check our social media page for inspiration.

Dude, how do I store my JMS?

We recommend refrigerating your JMS for optimal shelf life. So skip the pantry and throw it in the refrigerator. Don’t forget to refrigerate after opening.

Girl, how long does my JMS last?

We hope not too long, since you will be pretty much using your JMS on just about everything! But each JMS lasts around 2 months in the refrigerator.

JAM FAQs

Fam, I have a high intolerance for High Fructose Corn Syrup and added nonsense!

I 100% get it and I have never subscribed to that fanclub as a consumer and would never as a MAKER. We keep our product free of HFCS as well as additive. We make our own pectin using 100% apples as well as rely on the natural pectins derived from the fresh fruits we use. The only additive in our jar is (corny as hell but…) LOVE.

Hey Queen, you know I am a strict vegan with a sweet tooth. Can I indulge in any of these preserves?

Besides our Honey Pineapple which is made with Wild Flower Honey, all our products currently are 100% vegan. And speaking of vegan, check out Our Kitchen page for fun and exciting vegan recipes.

Yo, Jams? Fruit Preserves? Marmalade? Chutney? Aren’t these ALL the same thing?

While these are all fruit-based and, in my opinion, equally delicious, they differ in texture, flavor, and how they’re prepared:

  • Jams: Made with crushed or puréed fruit cooked down with sugar, giving them a soft, spreadable texture with tiny bits of fruit.

  • Fruit Preserves: Similar to jam but with larger chunks or whole pieces of fruit suspended in the mixture, offering more bite and texture.

  • Marmalade: A specific type of preserve made with citrus fruit, including the peel, which gives it a distinctive tangy, slightly bitter flavor.

  • Chutney: A savory condiment that balances sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors. Made with fruit, vinegar, sugar, and spices, chutney is thicker and more robust, often used as a complement to savory dishes.

Sis, refrigerate or nah?

Like our sauces we highly recommend that you refrigerate after opening to preserve its lifespan and avoid premature spoilage.

•    Shelf Life: Our fruit preserves have a shelf life of up to 12 months when unopened, provided they’re stored properly.

•    Storage: Unopened jars should be kept in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, we recommend refrigerating them and consuming within 1-3 months for the best flavor and freshness.
